EMMA SOPHINA "SEND ANOTHER PRAYER". I THINK THIS IS JUST A NICE STORY!

I SAW THIS YOUNG WOMAN ON TV YESTERDAY MORNING. HER SONG IS A BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE TO "SULLY".
(THE SONG IS AVAILABLE ON iTunes.)

Australian singer-songwriter Emma Sophina came to New York last week in search of creative inspiration.
She got more than she bargained for when she cheated death on Flight 1549.
"I may have almost lost my life but I found the inspiration I was looking for," said Sophina, 26. "I feel so blessed to be alive."
The blonde singer was captured in photos published around the world escaping the downed plane in a lifeboat bobbing on the frigid
Hudson River.
Her amazing escape taught her firsthand lesson in the real spirit of New York.
"The whole world watched how New Yorkers came together on 9/11," she said. "Now I got to see everyone's hospitality first hand. New York is a truly amazing city."
Sophina's New York adventure started as a routine trip to get away from the hustle and bustle of her life as a well-known recording artist Down Under.
Seeking a change of scenery from sunny
Australia, where it is now midsummer, the Top 40-style artist arrived in town a week ago.
"I needed a holiday and some space to write," she said. "I couldn't think of a better place to stop then
New York City."
Sophina planned to fly to
Charlotte on Thursday to visit some Australian friends.
She was sitting in seat 13F, a window seat, when she heard a loud bang a few minutes after takeoff.
"I heard a startling sound, a loud pop," Sophina said. "Now I know that it was the sound of the birds hitting the plane."
Sophina hugged the seat in front of her and began praying as the
Capt. Chesley Sullenberger warned passengers to brace for an emergency landing.
When the plane hit the water, she first thought it had slammed into a building.
"I thought, 'OK, I'm going to heaven now,'" she recalled. But then someone said we hit water."
Dread quickly turned to controlled chaos as Sophina and the other 150 passengers tried to get out alive.
"I grabbed a life jacket and made my way to the exit," she said. "The only way I can describe it is it was an orderly mess. A very orderly mess."
She bumped her head on the door as she headed out into the bone-chilling air and lost all her baggage and identification.
Sophina couldn't say enough about Sullenberger, whom she credited with giving her a new lease on life.
"God Bless Sully," she said. "If it wasn't for the graceful
Sully, I wouldn't be here talking to you today. He gave us such a graceful landing under such terrible conditions. He is a real hero."
Like any true artist, Sophina said she would seek to find her creative muse in the terrifying brush with death.

what i meant was SHE SEEMS to be capitalizing on her fame to do this
song, which seems to me to be in bad taste....like she is some kind of
hero...Sully is the hero, not her......i feel she should back off and
wait at least a month or two...but NO.....america fame is NOW.....sad
girl

Her real name is EMMA COWAN or EMMA COWEN.....NOT SO FINE SO FINE AH, SOPHINA ........she did not even write the song....it is all BS: you see, Before she left Australia, her friend the Melbourne songwriter Gary Pinto gave her the name of a New York writer and producer, Marc Swersky, to look up while she was in the US. Swersky was her sole contact to turn to after she lost all her belongings in the Hudson River. It just happened he had a half-written song that had never reached its potential. It was looking for a voice and a few new verses.

It is that unfinished song, originally crafted by Swersky and Pinto, for which she wrote new lyrics and which she will perform live for music executives this week.

"Send Another Prayer is a thank you to God for my life, firstly, and secondly also a thank you to the pilots," Sophina said.

"We have to define a direction for her very quickly so she can develop into the kind of artist she can be," Swersky said.

Oh Emma, Emma.

We know this girl through Church circles and I tell you, she’ll milk this for all it’s worth. Those who know Emma are well aware of her vanity and arrogance, though I’m sure even those who strongly disliked this poor girl are relieved she survived such a horrible incident.

After having been on the wrong side of an eleventh hour marriage pull out by her fiancé a couple of years ago, one would have thought that her vanity would have taken a fatal blow, but no, Emma is resilient, Emma Saphina !!!! The stage name sounds like that of a porn star.

Her potential in-laws at the time were cringing at the thought of having Emma marry into the family, (a conservative, religious Italian family). Her obnoxious ways certainly landed her in hot water with them, not to mention his friends who were mourning as the wedding bells approached. Thankfully, he woke up and dumped her almost as the fat lady sang.

I hope she learns from this experience and turns from her ways, because as far as many of those who had the displeasure to deal with her are concerned, she was a nasty piece of work.

I applaude her. wait a month? wait a year? yeah right... we might not be here then. opportunities present themselves when they do. some people take advantage of opportunities and others like to sit back and say they are undeserved. stop worrying about this australian girl and focus on your own life to find enjoyment and pleasure.
